Education has always had to adapt and respond to a changing world. Today more than ever, education must help transform the world. Despite over half a century of national and international education and development efforts, the promises of quality education for all remain unfulfilled. We will not ensure education as a human right across the lifespan by continuing to do more of the same.
A wave of artificial intelligence (AI) tools has emerged during the past year 2022. AI systems are increasingly being taken up in most sectors of the economy including education, helping to solve complex problems for the public good. The students of today will be the workers of tomorrow. The successful development and uptake of AI will contribute to the EU’s economic growth and global competitiveness and bring enormous benefits to our society and the environment.
The “AI Pedagogy in School” course has as an objective to support teachers to address the role of AI in the classroom, and to support students in developing critical relationships with these tools while enhancing their education.
What you'll learn
The learning outcomes of the course include
- the acquisition of a suite of AI skills, values, and knowledge outlined in the “AI Pedagogy in School” Curriculum.
- Identification of Scenarios & Practical Examples of AI Use in Education
- The development of a “Capstone Project” where students based on the design thinking process to solve a local “messy” problem that would benefit from using AI Solutions.
- Creation of a learning community of teachers involving those teaching in remote areas and isolated villages.
